Before you decide...
Just making an enquiry doesn't mean assuming you're going to go ahead.

We'll have a short conversation to find out a bit about you and your interest, but the main first thing to do is to meet together. Making a Family Stories video is a very personal project for you, and one thing you need to decide is whether you like us and would be happy to work together. So we'll have a friendly conversation at your home, and you'll be able to ask whatever questions you like.

We hope that you'll have explored these pages in advance to get some idea of what's involved.

Some of the things we'll talk about with you are:

-
Who is going to be telling the story? If that person is not you, as the person who has made the enquiry, they should be in the conversation too. For example, if the storyteller is perhaps going to be a parent or grandparent, they really need to be involved right at the start - without assuming you're going to go ahead.
There may be more than one storyteller of course.
-
Where would we be doing the filming? We would expect filming typically to take place in someone's home.
-
Would you have any photographs, whether digital or prints, that you might like to appear in the video? Perhaps even short video clips or sound recordings. We can include practically anything, depending on the quality.
-
When might you like to have your video to share with the family? We'll discuss realistic timescales with you.

-
What does it cost? Please understand that producing professional-quality video is not like doing it on a smartphone! Considerable time, effort and expertise are involved - and professional equipment.
Planning, filming and post-production (editing and finishing) are the big chunks of what must be done, which together amount to several days work.
The cost will depend on what you would like, what that means in terms of production time and effort - and of course your budget.
